Neil's Experience
Neil is a graduate-level counseling intern at Rooted in Healing (LLC) and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Rehabilitation at University of the District of Columbia (UDC). Neil is passionate about supporting individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity development, work-related stress, and personal growth. He is committed to helping clients build resilience while fostering emotional clarity and stability.

Neil brings an intentional, warm, thoughtful, collaborative, and strengths-based approach to his work. He believes in creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, safe, and empowered. Neil’s work is informed by cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness-based practices, solution-focused techniques, person-centered approach, and trauma-informed care. He integrates practical skill-building with reflective insight to support meaningful and sustainable change.

Clients can expect sessions that are practical, reflective, and skill focused. Neil aims to help clients build effective coping tools, strengthen emotional awareness, manage mental health stressors, and move toward greater clarity and confidence in daily life.
As a counselor-in-training, Neil provides services under the supervision of a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). This means his work is supported through regular clinical supervision to ensure high-quality, ethical, and client-centered care.
